Feet and Jesus

We really don't put much thought into whether or not we are going to wear shoes on any given day do we?

I have started to come to understand the importance of shoes this week! I decided to go barefoot all day today. Wow. Its kinda rough!

I walked along the beach and the gulf and thought about Jesus in Galilee (and his sandals - or his bare feet). I imagined Him walking along the shore teaching, healing, serving, and relaxing. It was awe inspiring for me to reflect on that.

As you may notice we have a new site and the first thing you see is feet! Most everything we do for Christ involves our feet. To get to a location to serve how do you get there - FEET! To go visit a person in need how do you get there - FEET! FEET FEET FEET!

Enjoy the new site and be patient as we work out the kinks!

Crash Into Me

I have the wonderful opportunity to hang out at the Beach Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama this week. Although its only the second day we have been here I have enjoyed sitting in the condo and relaxing. I have enjoyed every moment of sitting out on the beach. I have enjoyed every moment of standing on the beach and letting the waves crash in around me and my feet.

The waves evoked some thought in my mind about God and his love. Its like God is the waves of water crashing in. These waves were making thunderous booms and so much noise. It was amazing. There is so much force and momentum that is in these waves.

And yet we stand on the shore. Away from the waves crashing in.

To me its like God is sending Himself (which is love) at us…with such force…but we stand away on the shore…not letting Him get to us!

Will you let God’s waves of love and forgiveness envelope you? Go ahead jump into it! He is waiting! He will keep sending his waves!
